Britpop exponents DMA’s bring echos of Oasis into the present with a cracking album of pop-rock. I describe them as Britpop – but they hail from Sydney Australia! Great melodies create a succession of earworm rock songs on this, their ambitious fourth album. Enjoy this “blistering rave”!

Boygenius is a ‘supergroup’ consisting of three Queens of US Indie, Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. This new “record” follows on from their initial 2018 EP. They’ve all poured their creativity and inspiration into this collective effort quite selflessly, judging by the quality of the songs. There is a beautiful range of variety on this album, with excellent production. We look forward to checking out what Apple Music described as a record that “doesn’t sound like any of their own albums but does sound like an album only the three of them could make”.

The first album from the French electronic band in seven years, Fantasy is a solid effort with dynamic and satisfying music. The “Line of Best Fit” described it as “retain[ing] the exhilarating signature sound that the multi-instrumentalist is rightly admired for”.

Miley Cyrus is back with another chameleononic transformation and a bunch of dichotomous songs. Combining well written autobiographical reflections on aspects of her life, especially the end of her marriage and upbeat exciting pop, this is another solid collection.

British pop star Mimi Webb has released her debut album. We think The Telegraph summed it up well: “All 12 tracks are undeniably well-made and catchy songs, but it veers into all-too predictable territory in places”. There are a lot of great moments on this debut, and Mimi is definitely a promising artist.

Caroline Polachek lives in the same world for us as Charlie XCX, the borderland between experimental pop and the mainstream. We were transfixed by the single “Welcome To My Island” back in December and this album is filled with more of the same, edgy songs and a wonderful sonic landscape.

P!nk is an incredible artist. Through the past couple of decades she has filled our lives with incredibly catchy songs with a combination of tracks that get us moving emotionally or on the dancefloor. I am pleased to report that on this, her ninth effort she maintains this performance, delivering a solid set of songs.

Shania comes back in style on her first album since 2017 (Now) and her 2018 open-throat surgery. Her voice has changed but you could argue it has just added a bit of character. Although this isn’t the greatest album in her catalogue necessarily its filled with upbeat and great sounding tracks.

This is a tuneful and enjoyable album from the UK indie band, their second in twelve months – put it down to lockdown productivity. Pitchfork described it as “Eerily digestible synth pop with essences of palm-muted guitar and a maniacally catchy refrain, it feels like a late-career attempt to indoctrinate new members of the cult.”

This is Margo Price’s fourth album (her last effort was That’s How rumors Get Started in 2020) and was produced with the assistance of plenty of big names including Jonathan Wilson, Sharon Van Etten, Mike Campbell and Lucius. These yield some great songs including the very catchy “Radio” featuring one of our favourites Van Etten helping on vocals. Pitchfork described it as “burst(ing) with easy confidence and kind, stoic wisdom”.
